Peer Worker Member Vote on Award Reform Claims (Bargaining Amendments)

Peer Worker Member Vote on Award Reform Claims (Bargaining Amendments)

Friday 12 December, 2025

HSU Members have been negotiating with the NSW Government and Ministry of Health for new Health Professional awards since 1 April 2025. Over 50 meetings have occurred.

In November, the HSU Bargaining Unit commenced Industrial Relations Commission led conciliation over 6 days.

The HSU Bargaining Unit has reviewed members original claims and made amendments prior to providing the Industrial Relations Commission with a final award draft which will be progressed to arbitration (hearing).

HSU Health Professional delegates have developed and endorsed the changes to go to members for the following reasons:

  • To reflect an in-principle agreement with the Ministry of Health on an item.
  • To improve the prospects of success in an arbitration.
  • To improve the readability and drafting of a provision.
  • To reflect outcomes from the HSU interim pay offer – e.g., increasing pay claims to reflect the 4% achieved.

Next steps (IRC case):

HSU members must now review the proposed changes and vote. To review the changes relevant to your classification please read the documents below which provide tracked changed summaries of the relevant amendments to conditions, classifications, pay and allowances.
