Hastings Macleay Mental Health Restructure at Mid North Coast LHD

A restructure within Hastings Macleay Mental Health Service is being proposed by Mid North Coast LHD. This is your opportunity to have a say on how this affects you.

  • The District has provided the relevant slide deck from Town Hall meetings that were held in December 2025 (see below).
  • The redesign would see the reallocation of mental health inpatients beds from Kempsey Mental Health Inpatient Unit to Port Macquarie Mental Health Inpatient Unit (Ward 1A).
  • Management claim this would allow the community access to hospital level care for Kempsey residents in their own homes.
