Buckland EA – Your Agreement is Going Out to Vote

HSU members at Buckland will shortly be asked to vote on a proposed new enterprise agreement that will set your wages and conditions.
 
Your employer engaged the aged care peak body to negotiate this agreement. After a lengthy period of negotiations, the agreement is now going out to a vote.
 
It’s important that you review the proposed changes and have your say — it’s up to you to decide if this agreement is good enough. The agreement will only be accepted if a majority of employees who vote, vote ‘yes’.
 
Key points in the proposed agreement include:
 
Wages (including backpay):
  • 4.5% increase from December 2024
  • 2.5% increase from July 2025
  • 2.5% increase from July 2026
  • 2.5% increase from July 2027
These increases will be backpaid to the relevant historical dates, meaning eligible employees will receive backpay covering the period from when each increase was due.
For Nursing Assistants currently employed, wages are inclusive of a 1.92% buyout.
 
Other improvements:
  • More predictable hours for part-time employees, with a regular pattern of work locked in
  • Allowances increase in line with wage increases
  • Improved union rights clause for members and delegates
  • Introduction of a Senior Personal Care Worker role for employees with 4+ years’ experience and Cert III (from 1 January 2025)
  • Improved client cancellation and broken shift provisions for Home Care workers

Voting details:
  • Access period: 4 May 2026 – 12 May 2026
  • Voting opens: 13 May 2026
  • Voting closes: 16 May 2026
