Domestic Services (Housekeeping) Trial Roster at Broken Hill Hospital

Far West NSW Local Health District (FWNSWLHD) proposes to implement a new roster for laundry staff on a trial basis from 11 February 2026. The proposal was raised by management in response to HSU concerns about rostered days off, which were causing backlogs of linen to be processed and supply frustrations on wards.
  • The HSU met with management on Thursday, 11 December 2025 to discuss our concerns.
  • Management have now proposed the trial roster, which allows staff to take RDOs on various days, not rostered together on a single day per current practice.
