Estia Health QLD: Are your public holiday penalty rates correct?

Estia Health QLD: Are your public holiday penalty rates correct?

Thursday 25 June 2026

HSU members working at Estia Health facilities across Queensland have raised concerns about their public holiday penalty rates not being paid at the correct rate.

Your entitlements are outlined in the Estia Health Queensland Enterprise Agreement 2024:

31. 4 Public Holiday Penalty: For all ordinary hours worked on a Public Holiday.
  1. Non-Nursing Employees are entitled to a loading of 150% in addition to their Base Rate.
HSU members intend to escalate this matter.

What to do next
  • Check your payslips for any public holidays worked from February 2025 until now.
  • If you have not been paid correctly, email your manager directly, and query the rates paid. Copy in your HSU Organiser and forward your response to sarah.mclaren@hsu.asn.au

For any questions or to find out more, please reach out to your HSU Organiser Sarah Mclaren at 0493 803 455 sarah.mclaren@hsu.asn.au or your Member Services Division on 1300 478 679.
