High Volume Surgical Hub (HVSH) Establishment at Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH)

Northern Sydney LHD (NSLHD) has provided the HSU with details regarding NBH’s commencement as a HVSH. This is your opportunity to have a say on how this affects you.
- The extensive information pack details the process that would be undertaken once the HVSH commences as a HVSH from 1 July 2026, which will provide additional elective surgery capacity for suitable public patients.
- The implementation of the hub is set to be done in three phases, starting with a proof of concept where the activity is embedded within existing services, capacity validation where increased recruitment will commence, and the dedicated hub which should commence in early 2027.
