ISLHD Closure of Sub-Acute Mental Health Unit at Shoalhaven

Illawarra Shoalhaven LHD (ISLHD) has notified the HSU of the proposed closure to the Sub-Acute Unit. This is your opportunity to have a say on how this affects you and your team and the services you provide to the community.
- Management claim the Shoalhaven Memorial Hospital Redevelopment requires the Sub-Acute Unit to be handed over to NSW Health Infrastructure to commence refurbishment in-line with redevelopment activities by January 2026, with staff redeployment to begin 12.01.26. No other timeline has been provided.
- ISLHD advises it will work closely with affected staff regarding redeployment preferences, opening an 8 week 'placement process period to be consulted and worked through with our members.
