Dear member,
The transition of waste, cleaning, stores and linen services from SLHD to HealthShare NSW for Tranche 1 (Canterbury, Community Health Croydon, Community Health Marrickville, Community Health Redfern, Concord Mental Health, Concord Repatriation Hospital) occurred on Monday 25 May 2026.
Delegates from each site have advocated fiercely to obtain answers and resolutions to issues identified throughout the preparation phase of this transition.
Teething issues are expected as the transition commences and members are encouraged to raise issues locally through the appropriate escalation pathways (see below and here).
Members who are on light duties with active workers compensation claims - if you have any questions about how your claim will be managed post-transition, please reach out to HSU Member Services on 1300 478 679 for industrial advice specific to your circumstances.
You’re not alone - HSU members are standing strong together! We have ongoing meetings with both the District and HSNSW post-transition to resolve any issues that arise and cannot be first resolved with local site management.
