Introducing your new HSU organiser, Sarah McLaren.
Sarah comes to this role with over seven years’ experience working in aged care, so she understands firsthand the challenges members face on the floor -from workload pressures and staffing shortages to ensuring safe, quality care for residents.
Most recently, she served as an on-site union delegate in her workplace, advocating for members, supporting colleagues through workplace issues, and working collectively to improve conditions.
For Sarah, being a delegate reinforced the importance of strong, active union representation and the power of members standing together.
As your organiser, her priority is to support you, listen to your concerns, and work with you to protect your rights and improve outcomes across our workplaces.
Sarah is looking forward to getting out to sites, meeting members, and building strong, connected union groups. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions, concerns, or would like to get more involved via sarah.mclaren@hsu.asn.au
Do you know someone who isn’t an HSU member? Encourage them to join our Union today and have a say at work. We are always stronger when we stand together.
