Monday 9 February, 2026
Following notification on 30 January 2026 that Majestic Aged Care Services had been placed into liquidation, the HSU has been actively advocating on behalf of members employed at Salvation Army sites.
This has included meeting with the appointed liquidator, Pitcher Partners, as well as engaging with The Salvation Army and the potential new employer, Silvan’s, to ensure members’ rights and interests are represented throughout this process.
The Salvation Army has now confirmed in writing that staff may return to work at all sites from Monday, 9 February 2026. Some sites have already resumed operations.
The HSU will now commence discussions with The Salvation Army regarding contract terms, with the goal of restoring staff to their previous employment arrangements wherever possible. We will continue to keep members updated as these discussions progress.
In the meantime, we strongly encourage members to register with the Fair Entitlements Guarantee (FEG) to access support for any unpaid employment entitlements, should the former employer be unable to meet these obligations.
For any questions or to find out more, please reach out to your HSU Organiser/Delegate, or your Member Services Division on 1300 478 679.
