St Charbel’s Care Centre – Transfer of business to The Jesmond Group
Friday 27 March, 2026
Your employer has advised that The Jesmond Group has been selected to operate St Charbel’s Care Centre. The transition is expected to be finalised by 1 June 2026 but could occur sooner.
St Charbel’s has advised that:
- The Home will continue to operate and provide care for residents
- The Jesmond Group has entered a lease agreement with the Lebanese Maronite Order and will assume responsibility for managing and operating the home under its own aged care registration and regulatory approvals
- All staff leave entitlements will transfer to the new employer
What members should do:
- Attend any briefings that will be held to get further information
- Confirm balances on all leave entitlements via your payslip or by contacting management, and confirm those balances once the transfer is complete
- Contact your HSU Organiser or Member Service Division if you are required to attend a 1:1 meeting, to get advice and representation.
For any questions, please reach out to your HSU Organiser, Josie Peacock – josie.peacock@hsu.asn.au or your Member Service Division on 1300 478 679.
Do you know someone who isn’t an HSU member? Encourage them to join our Union today and have a say at work. We are always stronger when we stand together.
