Major Workplace Change at Bankstown City Aged Care – Know your rights!

Bankstown City Aged Care (BCAC) management have notified a of proposed major workplace change at Gillawarna Village and Yallambee Village.
 
BCAC has proposed to outsource its hospitality services to external provider Contemporary Catering, which will impact approximately 50 food service members across both sites.
 
During consultation meetings held this week, management have confirmed that transferring employees will remain under the BCAC, NSWNMA and HSU NSW Enterprise Agreement 2023 (Agreement).
  • When a transfer of business occurs, all employees’ current pay and conditions must transfer to the new employer. This includes all leave balances.
  • HSU members are urged to request their leave balances prior to the transfer, and then again once the transfer is completed.
  • Do not sign anything you are not happy with. HSU members are encouraged to seek advice before signing new contracts of employment or agreeing to any changes.
