Custodial Facility Changes at Justice Health

Dear member,
Justice Health has advised the HSU of likely impending changes as a result of a Corrective Services NSW announcement of several reforms under the Prison Bed Effectiveness Program. This is your opportunity to have a say on how this affects you.
- Justice Health notes that very little information is available at this stage, but it is very likely a number of positions will be considered impacted across affected sites.
- The reforms include the future closure of four Victorian-era wings at Goulburn Correctional Centre, and the transition of Silverwater Women’s Correctional Centre into a 30-bed female transit centre.
- The network has advised it will be setting up a joint working group with Corrective Services NSW and provide the HSU with timely and regular updates as changes become clearer.
