Minimum pay rates for qualified carers at Pines Living!

HSU members at Pines Living have raised concerns that some care workers may not being paid at the correct rate.
 
As part of the historic HSU led Aged Care Work Value Care, significant changes occurred to the pay rates and classification structure for direct care workers. This included a streamlining of classifications and several wage increases.
 
From 1 January 2025, care staff with a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent were reclassified as a qualified (level 3) direct carer.
 
This is the only criteria you need to meet to be paid at this level.
 
The hourly base rates for a level 3 qualified carer since January 2025 are:
  • January 2025 - $32.14
  • July 2025 - $33.27
  • October 2025 - $34.59
  • Coming in July 2026 - $36.23
These rates applied from the First Full Pay Period (FFPP) of the month indicated.   • A payslip showing the date and the base hourly rate for each of the above periods
