Nauseous Linen Allowance backpay dispute at CCLHD
Friday 3 July, 2026
From June 2018 to December 2021, CCLHD refused to pay Operations Assistants the Allowance for handling Nauseous Linen (NLA). Since 2023, the HSU has been attempting to resolve this underpayment and have recently made progress towards a resolution.
Members now have the opportunity to vote on the proposed resolution pathway from the options below. The vote will be open to HSU members until 12 July 2026.

- Option 1: CCLHD to audit instances of NLA claimed by all OAs at CCLHD for a 12-month period from Jan 2022 to Dec 2022. The average number of claims to be retrospectively applied to the backpay period for all eligible staff.
- Option 2: CCLHD to audit instances of NLA claimed by all OAs at CCLHD for a 12-month period from June 2025 to June 2026. The average number of claims to be retrospectively applied to the backpay period for all eligible staff.
- Option 3: Continue to pursue the claim of 1 instance of NLA per shift worked per OA.
