Outpatient Room Extended Operating Hours at Wollongong Hospital

NSW Health Pathology (NSWHP) has notified the HSU of proposed changes to opening hours for the outpatient room in Wollongong Hospital. This is your opportunity to have a say on how this affects you.
  • Management advise that meetings have been held with Technical Assistants, Enrolled Nurses, and Registered Nurses to discuss proposed changes within the service.
  • As a result of these discussions, it has been proposed that outpatient collection services operate between 7:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday and introduce an additional shift on Saturdays, to better meet service demand. As such, the proposal would require staff to agree to shift work.
  • Management advise that additional FTE positions have been approved within the Wollongong Pre-Analytical Collection Service to support the extra demand.
