SLHD Restructure and Significant Job Cuts

Sydney Local Health District has advised that it has now completed its “Sustainable FTE Review”.  Members were notified by SLHD at a meeting on 11 February 2026 and the HSU were notified in writing later that afternoon.
 
SLHD has stated that members affected by the proposed changes will be informed personally how these changes will impact them. This will take the form of one-on-one meetings that will be organised for affected individuals.
 
Members invited to such a meeting are entitled to a support person. If you wish to have an HSU support person, please notify the employer that you will be seeking support and contact the HSU Member Services Division (MSD) on 1300 478 679. A member of the Member Services Division will then be allocated as your contact and will dial in to the meeting.

HSU members will be formally engaged in consultation with SLHD regarding the impact of these proposed changes. A USCC (Union-Specific Consultative Committee) meeting has been set down for Monday 23 February and members are being asked to provide feedback on the attached material.
