Carparking Payment Policy change at The Sutherland Hospital 09/12/2025
Tuesday 9 December, 2025
It has come to attention that Sutherland Hospital has circulated a MEMO and Parking Fact Sheet to staff which contain confusing information around the cut off for part-time hours, and the management of Flexible Working Arrangements (such as hybrid work or working reduced hours). HSU representatives and the Ministry of Health remain in consultation over those two issues, and they are not yet resolved.
In response to queries about the above, SESLHD advised:
- While consultation is ongoing between the MoH and HSU representatives, SESLHD will not be applying the contracted hours as a basis for payment and instead, allowing staff to elect the number of days they use the car park.
- The FAQ has been updated to more clearly reflect this and will be distributed across the campus by no later than Monday 8 December 2025.
- Any staff that have already processed their forms will be contacted and have an opportunity to revise their deduction frequency should they wish.
- The Kiosk will be open again from 12 January to 30 January 2026, between 10.00 am and 2.00 pm. During these times, staff may attend the Kiosk to complete the application form.
- SESLHD also reaffirms that no passes will be deactivated as part of this process and that staff are able to transition over anytime within the allocated timeframe.
Minutes of the USCC from 26 November and other correspondence about this matter are available below:
