Catholic Healthcare – Closure of St Hedwig Village
Thursday 5 March, 2026
HSU members at St Hedwig were advised on Tuesday that the home will be closing to undergo major refurbishments. As with any workplace change – especially a significant one such as this – HSU members must be properly informed and consulted. Union support is also available!
Catholic Healthcare has advised that:
- The closure will take place on 30 June 2026.
- Their objective is to redeploy staff to other Catholic Healthcare facilities.
- Individual consultation meetings (1:1) will be held up until the 17 March 2026.
What members should do:
- Attend any briefing that’s held to get further information.
- Confirm balances on ALL leave entitlements via payslip or by contacting payroll.
- Contact your HSU organiser or Member Services Division (details below) before you are required to attend a 1:1 meeting, to get advice and representation.
For any questions or to find out more, please reach out to your HSU Organiser, Marion Jennings 0427 081 887 or your Member Services Division on 1300 478 679.
