Catholic Healthcare St Hedwig Closure: Consultation Rights
Friday 27 March 2026
HSU members at St Hedwig have had their initial 1:1 meeting with HR and will shortly be asked to attend another consultation meeting when offers of alternative employment will be made.
It is important that members know:
- You have the right to delay a meeting whilst seeking HSU representation.
- You should not be pressured into accepting or signing anything you do not agree with.
- That just because Catholic Healthcare say there will be no redundancies this may still be an option.
What members should do:
- Contact your Organiser as soon as you have been asked to attend a meeting.
- Have discussions with your family to know what is a possible alternative that will work for your family commitments.
- Remember that consultation means you have a say in your future employment.
For any questions or to find out more, please reach out to your HSU Organiser, Marion Jennings 0427 081 887 or your Member Services Division on 1300 478 679.
