Christadelphians Courtlands: Annual Leave Accessibility

Christadelphians Courtlands: Annual Leave Accessibility

Friday 27 March, 2026

HSU members at Courtland’s have raised the concern that many annual leave requests are being denied.

HSU members have raised this issue with management and have received a response from them saying that;
  • Leave requests have been denied if it would result in insufficient staffing levels or compromise service delivery.
  • Staff are encouraged to submit leave requests as early as possible.
  • Leave is generally considered on a first-in, first-assessed basis.
Furthermore, it has been requested that a transparent system be implemented so that staff are able to see available leave openings prior to putting in a leave request. This request has been accepted and a system to identify available leave openings will be put in place.

If members have annual leave requests denied, contact your HSU organiser if;
  • You have not accessed leave in the last 12 months.
  • You have provided ample notice of the intended leave period.
  • You feel you have had your leave request unreasonably refused.
For any questions or to find out more, please reach out to your HSU Organiser, Marion Jennings 0427 081 887 or your Member Services Division on 1300 478 679.
