Goodwin EA Negotiations Update

HSU members have worked hard throughout this bargaining process to secure a fair enterprise agreement that protects your wages and conditions.
At our last meeting we had an agreed timeline, and it looked like we were close to an agreement that could proceed to a vote.
Unfortunately, Goodwin has not met those commitments — and key issues remain unresolved.
Wages Offer – Still No Real Figures
Last week, HSU members wrote to Goodwin with a clear deadline. This process has gone on far too long, and we require a formal wages offer and responses to outstanding concerns.
Goodwin has now provided the following percentage-only wage increases:
- 2026 – 2.5% upon approval (backdated to the end of voting)
- 2026 – 3% from FFPP 1 August 2026
- 2027 – 3% from FFPP 1 October 2027
- 2028 – 3% from FFPP 1 October 2028
However, Goodwin has not provided any actual hourly rates or dollar figures.
Without basic wage information, members cannot meaningfully assess what this offer actually means over the life of the agreement. This is fundamental information that should have been provided from the outset.
HSU members have formally written back to Goodwin outlining these concerns and has requested a full breakdown of wage rates.
We are currently waiting for their response.
Infection Control Leave Removed
HSU members also pushed for a new Infection Control Leave clause — and Goodwin agreed to this in principle.
They even drafted a clause that provided two additional days of leave, separate from personal/carer’s leave.
Despite this, the clause has been removed entirely from the latest draft agreement without explanation.
Where Things Stand Now
HSU members have responded to Goodwin outlining:
- Our concerns regarding the lack of wage-rate information
- The need for a transparent wages breakdown
- The need to reinstate the Infection Control Leave entitlement
Members will be updated as soon as there is further information.
