Health Information Services (HIS) Restructure at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney (SVHS)

SVHS has notified the HSU of proposed changes within the HIS Department. This is your opportunity to have a say on how this affects you.
- The proposal involves the updating of reporting lines and changes to some physical scanning tasks within the HIS department.
- SVHS states they are implementing a Scanned Medical Record (SMR) which will replace the current hybrid paper-based medical records system and lay a foundation for the Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR) readiness.
- The proposal would see changes to record management duties with an increased emphasis on digital workflows, changes to reporting lines, and changes to desk allocation based on duties. The changes would not impact FTE or classifications.
