Social Work Restructure at St Vincent's Hospital Sydney (SVHS)

Dear member,
A restructure within the Social Work department is being proposed by SVHS. This is your opportunity to have a say on how this affects you.
- SCHS intends to delete the current Complex Case Social Worker position and replace it with a two-year New Graduate Social Worker in what they claim would support newly graduated social workers enter the profession.
- This proposed change would have various flow-on effects on other members of the team, with various changes to responsibilities being noted in the documentation.
- The HSU is concerned about the deletion of this existing position and the flow in effects it would have on the rest of the team. The HSU also disagrees with SVHS’s having the ability to replace a permanent position with a temporary contract as this is not in line with the EBA.
