Same Day/Day Of Surgery Unit Restructure at John Hunter Hospital

A restructure impacting rosters for administration staff in the Same Day/Day Of Surgery Unit (SDDOS) is being proposed by Hunter New England LHD (HNELHD). This is your opportunity to have a say on how this affects you.
  • Historically, AO’s employed in SDDOS have worked set days and hours based on agreements made with long-term staff. Management claim the unit is now experiencing issues due to staff being unwilling to work the afternoon/evening shifts.
  • The proposal is a transition to a 5-week rotating roster which management claim would create a fair rostering process.
  • Management claim this would also ensure all staff are appropriately cross-trained across key areas.
