SESLHD Proposed Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services Restructure

SESLHD Proposed Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services Restructure

Monday 11 August, 2025

South Eastern Sydney LHD (SESLHD) has notified the HSU of a proposed significant restructure to Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and has invited HSU feedback.

SESLHD management claim that this proposed change comes as a result of a lack of available support for children and adolescents who require mental health support, noting SESLHD do not have any adolescent mental health inpatient beds available.

The proposal would see the creation of a District-wide Child and Adolescent management and leadership team that management claim would support the needs of the population by enabling collaboration across the service.

The change would see major changes to the current organisation structure and, concerningly, result in the deletion of a number of roles across CAMHS, but also the creation of some positions. SESLHD has provided documentation which highlights the changes to the structure and outlines affected roles.
