Check Your Payslip – Work Value Increases Are Now Finalised

This year a new Arcare Agreement was negotiated, delivering percentage increases to wages for all workers. The Agreement also has an attractive incremental system, so depending on your years of service and hours worked, you may receive a different rate of pay.

But that is not the only increase you should have received this year.

Depending on your classification, you should have also received monetary increases which has been awarded under the Health Services Union Work Value Case that members won, and funded by the Federal Government.

Across the sector, HSU members are finding they weren’t paid the correct Work Value amounts — even when employers believe they have applied them.

What You Should Have Received

Personal Care Workers – Cert III or above

  • +$0.91 per hour from January 2025
  • +$1.32 per hour from October 2025

Support Services – Environmental Services Level 3

  • +$1.80 per hour from January 2025

These amounts must be added on top of your normal scheduled EA increases.

If you’re below what you expected, or you’re unsure whether Work Value has been properly applied, now is the time to join members at the Health Services Union and make sure that you receive all of the increases you are entitled to.

The Health Services Union covers all workers in Aged Care and membership fees are tax deductible at $23.30 per fortnight.

Do you know someone who isn’t an HSU member? Encourage them to join our Union today and have a say at work. We are always stronger when we stand together.
