Reclassification and back pay win at Villaggio Sant’Antonio
Tuesday 26 May, 2026
Dear member,
HSU members raised concerns about their classification and pay rates being below the required under the Aged Care Award. After several months of negotiations with Villaggio, members' voices have been heard!
Following constructive and collaborative discussions with Villaggio, affected workers will now be:
- Correctly classified as qualified carers (holding a Certificate III)
- Paid according to the qualifications held – Level 3 wage rate
- Receive back pay and related superannuation contributions to 6 January 2025. This will be paid on 27 May 2026.
By speaking up and standing strong, HSU members ensured they receive proper pay and recognition!
For any questions or to find out more, please reach out to your HSU Delegate Daniel Belehu, Organiser Lisa Bourke at lisa.bourke@hsu.asn.au or 0409 744 165 or your Member Services Division on 1300 478 679.
Do you know someone who isn’t an HSU member? Encourage them to join our Union today and have a say at work. We are always stronger when we stand together.
New members can join at www.hsu.asn.au/join or call 1300 478 679.
