Team Leader Update at St Basil’s

HSU members at St Basil’s have been raising concerns about the Team Leader rate of pay since March. Please see the update below. Members are invited to join a Zoom meeting today to discuss the progress of this issue.
  • WVC increase resolved: The Stage 3 WVC increase issue was corrected in October 2025, with significant back pay paid to affected members
     
  • Team Leader: Management has clarified that PCW4 Direct Care Certificate IV employees rostered to deliver medications are not responsible for supervision or training and are therefore not entitled to ACE 6 under the Aged Care Award. However, management has confirmed that employees rostered as Team Leaders (PCW4 Direct Care Certificate IV Medicators) will be paid at the ACE 5 rate. This means you must be receiving the minimum hourly rate or $37.35
     
  • Position Descriptions: Draft revised PDs for PCW 4 Direct Care Cert 4 Medications (ACE 4) and PCW 3 Direct Care (ACE 3) have been provided and are currently being reviewed. Once finalised, management will provide a copy and consult with staff
